چکیده
Biiagan, Hindu male, aged 35 years, was admitted to the Gaya Pilgrim Hospital with a tumour in the left orbital fossa. It had begun three years before, gradually increasing in size, and pushing the eyeball forwards. There was no history of syphilis or family history of importance. The eyeball, which was almost embedded in the growth, protruded from the orbital fossa forwards and outwards; vision was not impaired, but the palpebral conjunctiva was congested and hypertrophied, and the lower lid wras everted. His general health was satisfactory. The eye was operated on by Major D. Couttsr m .15., i.M.S., Civil Surgeon, Gaya. An incision having been made along the conjunctiva of the lower eyelid, careful dissection shewed adhesions to the inferior rectus, the orbicularis, the inferior oblique and other adjacent structures. The capsule of Tenon was intact and also the periosteum of the orbit. Whilst delivering the tumour a further and more dangerous adhesion to the sheath of the optic

Comparison of the Orbital Fossa Dimensions of Men and Women
Background & Aims: The orbital cavity is an important anatomic structure in the face. It is in close connection with the skull, paranasal sinuses, and the nose. Precise knowledge of the orbital cavity dimensions can be helpful in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases associated with the orbital cavity. Due to the lack of adequate research on orbital size in Iran and the city of Kerman, the ai...
متن کاملCemento-ossifying Fibroma Of Paranasal Sinus Presenting Acutely As Orbital Cellulitis.
Fibro-osseous lesions of the face and paranasal sinuses are relatively uncommon. These lesions have overlapping clinical, radiologic and pathologic features causing difficulty in diagnosis. Neoplastic fibro-osseous paranasal sinus lesions can be benign or malignant. The benign fibro-osseous lesions described are: ossifying fibroma (and its histologic variants) and fibrous dysplasia. The variant...
متن کاملOssifying fibroma of the sella turcica.
Ossifying fibroma of the sellar turcica is extremely rare. There are only sporadic case reports in the literature. One such case simulating pituitary adenoma is presented in an 18-year-old girl.

A 14-year-old black girl had painless, progressive proptosis and upward displacement of the left eye for approximately six months. Computed tomography showed a massive tumour involving the maxillary sinus with extension into the sphenoid sinus, ethmoid sinus, and orbit. The mass was excised surgically and proved histopathologically to be a juvenile ossifying fibroma. The clinical and histopatho...
متن کاملA swelling of the maxilla: a case report and differential diagnosis
Ossifying fibromas are benign fibro-osseous tumors of mesenchymal origin. Although ossifying fibromas have principally been found in the jaw, they have also been reported in the frontal, ethmoid, sphenoid, and temporal bones, as well as the orbit and anterior cranial fossa. Ossifying fibromas affecting the jaw exhibit variable behaviors ranging from slow growth to occasionally aggressive local ...
